Marjorie Wright

Marjorie Wright, 86, of Gwinner, ND, passed away January 19, 2013 in her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Marjorie Shipton, daughter of Clarence and Alma (Davis) Shipton, was born July 7, 1926 near Lisbon, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended school. She attended one year of LPN school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then worked for 14 years as a LPN. Marjorie was united in marriage to William Thomas Wright on December 20, 1946, and they made their home in New Mexico. William died on August 11, 1991. In 2003 Marjorie returned to North Dakota to be near family; and the rich, black soil to enjoy her hobby, which was any kind of gardening.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Wes) Mullen, Ajo, AZ; a brother, Clayton Shipton, Lisbon, ND; four sisters, Bernice Kempel, Lisbon, ND, Leota Sparks, Port Orchard, WA, Patricia (Norm) Miller and Margrelle Moore all of Danville, CA.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, a son, Stephen, four brothers, Lester, Leonard, Stanley, and Richard, and two sisters, Beatrice Yule and Lois Brunson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Gwinner Community Center, Gwinner, ND, with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m.
